In the academic year 2023-24, the Centre for East Asian Studies, Christ University, received a grant to organize a series of panel discussions on the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership. This initiative led to the establishment of the U.S.-India Cooperation Circle (USICC). Following this, the Centre organized an inter-collegiate debating competition on 9 and 10 September 2024, during which the USICC Student Chapter was officially launched. The competition attracted participants from Bengaluru and across India, generating significant interest among academic institutions and highlighting its importance.
Building on this momentum, the Centre for East Asian Studies, Christ University, in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate Chennai and under the aegis of USICC, launched a new project comprising a series of virtual and hybrid panel discussions. These panels focused on the 2024 U.S. elections and U.S.-India bilateral relations.
